The KahBang Film Festival is a discovery festival for independent cinema, dedicated to showcasing emerging films and filmmakers and exposing them to new audiences. The festival is a program of the nonprofit organization KahBang Arts and is part of the KahBang Festival brand. To serve this mission, the KahBang Film Festival brings a unique free ticket model allowing for a wide, diverse audience of festival-goers & film enthusiasts.
Going into its 4th year as part of the annual KahBang Music & Art Festival, the KahBang Film Festival has been re-launched & will be presented in 2013 by KahBang Arts, the nonprofit arm of KahBang. Each year, KahBang Arts curates the KahBang Art Festival and is excited to take on the film program for the first time. •KFF Opening Night|Thursday, August 8th
Maine born actress, writer & producer, Katie Aselton’s (The Puffy Chair, The League) horror-thriller Black Rock screens at 10:30PM. Black Rock was also filmed in our home state of Maine.
• VHS Night|Friday, August 9th
11pm: An Ode to actor/comedian Chris Farley, who would have celebrated his 50th birthday this year.
Immediately following at midnight will be a screening of a 90’s comedy favorite, on VHS.

The culmination of the KahBang Film Festival weekend is the Closing & Awards Party. In competition category filmmakers will be awarded as well as one Audience Choice winner, awarded by Festivalgoers’ ballots. It wouldn’t be a party without filmmakers, guests, and you to help us celebrate the incredible indie- film awesomeness that has been showcased here during the 2013 KahBang Film Festival and the leaps we’ve taken this year to broaden both our program & our film community. With close ties to the music community, KFF is proud be featuring a special premier of Music Festival performers,The Bynars, new video/short “Every Little Thing You Love”.
